There’s something about Fragrancetok — and the broader world of Perfumetok — that leaves a strange taste in my mouth.
I adore perfume. I consider it art, ritual, memory, and magic in a bottle. But the hyper-consumption I see online — shelves lined with hundreds of bottles, blind buys that never get worn — feels hollow to me. It’s capitalism dressed in atomizers and wax seals. And it’s not how I want to relate to scent.
Perfume, for me, is sacred. Alchemical. A co-creation between wearer and world.
When I wear a fragrance, I’m not just wearing a smell — I’m weaving a spell. I’m choosing the energy I want to embody, the story I want to tell. Each scent is a portal, and I step through it with intention.
So here’s what I’m doing instead. Rather than contribute to the noise, I’m creating a quiet, deliberate series — one scent at a time. I’ll introduce you to a fragrance I truly love and live with. I’ll share how it wears on me, what I pair it with, and the spell it casts. I’ll write short vignettes, share moodboards, maybe even the rituals I use it in.
Because perfume is magic. And I want to honor it that way.
